Professor Paulo Eduardo Freire is a 4th Degree Black Belt and started training Jiu-Jitsu in 1999 with Professor Kiko Meneghetti at a local gym in his neighborhood.

Eventually Professor Kiko would open his own Gracie Barra School at a neighborhood in Campinas called Barao Geraldo and Professor Paulo's GB roots were formed.

Professor Paulo, also known as "Piu", spent the next 14 years training, competing, and teaching in Brasil before being invited to come to the United States where he stayed 1 year with the team at the GBHQ - USA, as well as, another year with Professor Kayron Gracie at GB Rancho Santa Margarita.

More recently, Professor Paulo relocated to Arizona to lead the GB Chandler. He is an active competitor for Gracie Barra with a lot of success on the IBJJF events, achieving medals even in the major tournaments as Worlds, Pans, and Brazilian Nationals.

More than just competing, however, Professor Paulo also has a strong passion for teaching and spreading Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone!
